For more than seventy years, Taurus has been broadly renowned to be the best in the gun making industry. During these decades, Taurus has continued to stay ahead in with the inception of the wheel-gun which boasts of great features such as the full length ejector rod, the yoke detent and the Taurus Security System. When it comes to revolvers, Taurus is globally known for their sophisticated beasts like the legendary Taurus Raging Bull in the family of hunters series of handguns. There are about 12 different Taurus Revolvers Series but the following five are known to be the best and most commonly preferred.

There are definitely dozens more models of Taurus revolvers but these five currently take the day when it comes to reliability, design and performance in their respective categories. Trust Taurus Revolvers
After maintaing a prominent position in the firearms industry for more than 7 years, Taurus sure isn’t running out of innovative designs. Amongst its most recent products is the Millennium G2 9mm Polymer Grip Sub Compact, with a lightweight 22 oz, and the CT9.
The new Millennium features a very thin profile most suitable for carry concealment, and a polymer frame. This new weapon is designed for the most discreet use, and it would take a practiced intelligence to detect that one carries it. It comes in two compact models: PT 140 and PT 111 and features high-profile sights, a textured, aggressive grip, and edges that are smoothly melted to offer a comfortable grip and ease of concealment.
The gun has a 9mm caliber and a capacity of 12 +1. It has a compact frame with a barrel that measures 3.2″ in length. Its overall length is 6.24″, which is just perfect to be tucked away in a sizable purse or other concealment space. Excellent for SA/BA action, it also has fixed front sight and 2 adjustable dots at the rear sight.
One of the innovative features of the Millennium G2 9mm is the loaded indicator chamber which alerts the user that there is a round in the chamber. This is one of the security features found in all of Taurus’ new compact pistols with either large or medium frames. This feature allows the user to briefly verify if there is a round in the chamber or not. The ejector will pop out of the slide if there is a round letting one see a red light just behind the port of the ejector. This feature can provide an added safety to the use of this firearm, but it doesn’t replace common sense. Added to this feature is the standard Taurus Security System which prevents the weapon from firing except the shooter wants to. The user can secure the weapon, making it inoperable through the use of the built-in security system that uses a key. When this system is activated, the gun cannot fire, unless the key is turned to unlock it.
The CTG29 Carbine – CT9 is another new weapon in the wide selection of Taurus firearms. Designed with an aluminum CT Carbine upper receiver and sights attached at the full-length Picatinny rail, it is one of the weapons that will soon hit the firearm market like hot cake. The gun is designed with both right and-handed users in mind, introducing a convertible charging handle that can be adjusted to suit the user’s active hand. The barrel has a 16″ length. The overall length of the gun is 36″, which makes it a little difficult for those who’d want to conceal their weapons. It is a 9mm caliber with a capacity of 10 and adjustable rear sight. The front sight is fixed. Overall, it weighs around 6.6 Lbs.
Taurus firearms are very popular because of the security systems with they are designed, but most importantly, because of the features that make them easy and convenient to handle. No matter the motive for which a shooter needs a gun, there is a wide selection of Taurus firearms to choose from.
One of our favorite taurus revolvers, this little hand-cannon Taurus Public Defender Polymer .45LC/410 GA is said to weigh 27 ounces when unloaded and holds five shots. After a great success in the sales of the Judge revolver, Taurus introduced the Public Defender Polymer as one of the concealed weapons to carry. The size of the revolver is perfect and chic, making it best for concealment. The length of the revolver is estimated at 7.65″. At its widest section, the gun is just 1.5”, with a barrel that is 2″ in length. The gun is designed with a safety lock comprising of a small key that is turned after being inserted below the hammer. It cannot be fired after the lock is turned on.
The grips are made of rubber, and Taurus fondly calls them “Ribber” grips because they comprise of numerous ribs that run horizontally along the handle. Although the handle is great, it can be a big problem for people with larger hands. However, people with little hands, especially women, will find them convenient and easy. It is compact, but it can still be shot with a two-handed grip. One can also fire the gun in a single or double action, but it’s worth mentioning that the trigger pull would be over 12 pounds for a double-action shot and much less in a single action shot, a little over 5 pounds. The pool in a single action shot is very smooth, but one would need a little effort in a double-action shot.
There are groves covering the whole length of the trigger, providing a better, more solid grip on it. The frame of the revolver is made of polymer with steel lying beneath it. Its hammer is well bobbed to prevent it from hooking on things like fabric, and even though the hammer is small, it is still very easy to locate and operate. Most people like the top trap which is flat, and the faux vented ribs of the barrel. The top surface of the gun is knurled, making it very easy for any user to grip. The cylinder release that dominates the profile of this gun can be found on its left side. Due to the small size of the gun, users may sometimes find difficult to remove empty shell casings, which can be a huge problem especially if one wants to act fast. But overall one of the best personal defense taurus revolvers.
This is one of the great Taurus revolvers for anyone who wants the perfect semi-auto pistol for self-defense. Its features make it an easy-to-handle gun with a built-in security system. One just needs to turn the key to make it inoperable, a manual safety that cannot be overlooked. The extended ejector rob makes it even easier to extract the fire cases. Plus, the “Ribber” grip provides an excellent ergonomic shock absorbing design for the gun handling, making it a weapon for all seasons. The Taurus Public Defender Polymer revolver can also be the perfect weapon for women, and people with small fingers. Its size and features allow it to be carried with discretion and total concealment, one of Taurus’ best products, designed to offer the most ease of use to owners.
In the gun manufacturing industry, there are quite a number of big players whose names are synonymous with firearms. Of course within the same industry, there are names that are not only synonymous with firearms, but are also synonymous with ‘elitist’ firearms, if you will. This is to say that some brand names have proven themselves highly reliable in the past and thus have earned themselves a pedestal. One such brand name is Smith & Wesson. This is without a doubt one of the most recognizable names or brands in the gun industry. That and ‘Kalashnikov’ thanks to the AK47. But apart from home grown names, one brand that has stood the test of time and has come to endear itself to the American armed community and indeed the world is Taurus. Taurus revolvers are some of the most reliable and easy to maintain pieces in production today.
This is not to say that Taurus hasn’t had its share of cynics. Just as people once thought of BMW as a watered down, poor mans version of the Mercedes, Taurus guns have also had the misfortune of being thought of as cheap Smith & Wesson knockoffs. But as time went by, logic and facts came into play and Taurus firearms continued to impress and remain reliable even as many brands fell off along the way due to dysfunctional characteristics.
There is a wide array of Taurus revolvers that stand their own ground when measured up against competition. The MODEL 66 .357 MAG. REVOLVER is one such Taurus revolver. This is a 7 shot, medium frame revolver that features the customary comfortable grips that is associated with Taurus firearms. Its reliability, double sights and double or single action trigger has made this model a living legend among Taurus revolver enthusiasts.
Another one of outstanding Taurus revolvers is Model 85. This is a small, easily concealable weapon built purely for self defense purposes. Taurus M85 is equipped for +P rated loads, it is relatively accurate which is a good quality for a close range defense gun. Being a ‘snub nose’ revolver, the Taurus M85 is not built for long range targeting. But it makes up for this by its concealability and relatively close range accuracy as well as the special Taurus Security System that comes with Taurus revolvers. This is a key that allows you to lock your weapon. Unless this key is turned, your gun will not cock nor fire. The added advantage that Taurus revolvers bring is that they still have a safety that you have to disengage. This serves as a double security feature.
Most Taurus revolvers like the M85 and .357 MAG. Revolver all have that ‘tough guy’ look. The ejector rods are surrounded by a beefy shroud as thicker barrels complete the look. As far as revolvers go, Taurus offers some of the most reliable and user friendly guns in the market today. The company is also very customer oriented. The M85 for example comes with a lifetime warranty for the gun. This means that the company will repair any damage to the gun without any added costs to the owner.
