What’s New With Taurus Firearms?
After maintaing a prominent position in the firearms industry for more than 7 years, Taurus sure isn’t running out of innovative designs. Amongst its most recent products is the Millennium G2 9mm Polymer Grip Sub Compact, with a lightweight 22 oz, and the CT9.
The new Millennium features a very thin profile most suitable for carry concealment, and a polymer frame. This new weapon is designed for the most discreet use, and it would take a practiced intelligence to detect that one carries it. It comes in two compact models: PT 140 and PT 111 and features high-profile sights, a textured, aggressive grip, and edges that are smoothly melted to offer a comfortable grip and ease of concealment.
The gun has a 9mm caliber and a capacity of 12 +1. It has a compact frame with a barrel that measures 3.2″ in length. Its overall length is 6.24″, which is just perfect to be tucked away in a sizable purse or other concealment space. Excellent for SA/BA action, it also has fixed front sight and 2 adjustable dots at the rear sight.
One of the innovative features of the Millennium G2 9mm is the loaded indicator chamber which alerts the user that there is a round in the chamber. This is one of the security features found in all of Taurus’ new compact pistols with either large or medium frames. This feature allows the user to briefly verify if there is a round in the chamber or not. The ejector will pop out of the slide if there is a round letting one see a red light just behind the port of the ejector. This feature can provide an added safety to the use of this firearm, but it doesn’t replace common sense. Added to this feature is the standard Taurus Security System which prevents the weapon from firing except the shooter wants to. The user can secure the weapon, making it inoperable through the use of the built-in security system that uses a key. When this system is activated, the gun cannot fire, unless the key is turned to unlock it.
The CTG29 Carbine – CT9 is another new weapon in the wide selection of Taurus firearms. Designed with an aluminum CT Carbine upper receiver and sights attached at the full-length Picatinny rail, it is one of the weapons that will soon hit the firearm market like hot cake. The gun is designed with both right and-handed users in mind, introducing a convertible charging handle that can be adjusted to suit the user’s active hand. The barrel has a 16″ length. The overall length of the gun is 36″, which makes it a little difficult for those who’d want to conceal their weapons. It is a 9mm caliber with a capacity of 10 and adjustable rear sight. The front sight is fixed. Overall, it weighs around 6.6 Lbs.
Taurus firearms are very popular because of the security systems with they are designed, but most importantly, because of the features that make them easy and convenient to handle. No matter the motive for which a shooter needs a gun, there is a wide selection of Taurus firearms to choose from.
